About Us

The Colombian Mining Association - ACM is the union that represents explorers, producers and providers of goods and services related to the mining sector present in the country, dedicated to generating responsible and sustainable mining.

ACM was born from the integration of Asomineros of ANDI, Colombian Chamber of Mining and Large Scale Mining Sector. The implementation of the new union has been one of the most representative processes of union reengineering in the country, which sought through integration, unify the business mining sector, generate knowledge transfer and promote a formal sector with comprehensiveness in technical, environmental, social and human rights matters, with benefits for the regions and the country.
 
One of the main characteristics of the new union is the diversity of minerals that it gathers, since it has associates of companies dedicated to the coal, gold, nickel, emeralds, copper, dragging materials, cement, industrial minerals, limestones and brickyards, among others; in addition to an important number of companies, source of important linkages that are generated in the regions through goods and services for the sector.
 
Mission
 
Promote and improve the stable and competitive institutional framework that allows the sector to develop and expand sustainably in the different stages of the mining cycle, being recognized as a partner in the sustainable development of Colombia, its regions and its communities in the area of influence.
 
Positioning and internal alignment
 
The mining industry will go from being perceived as a "villain" to being recognized as an "ally of the development of Colombia". The communication of the industry will be supported by the actions of the companies, which, through an internal alignment strategy, will reinforce with facts their commitment to well-done, environmentally and socially responsible mining, which contributes significantly to the country's economic development. and its regions. The communities will perceive the companies as a source of development that bring or will bring substantial economic and social benefits, especially for the communities in the area of ​​influence of the operations.
 
Stable and competitive conditions for the mining industry
 
The mining industry will request and assist in the construction of a stable, predictable (contractual, tax, environmental and labor) legal framework that promotes the industry's local and international competitiveness at all stages of the mining cycle.
 
Progress and growth of the industry and communities in its area of ​​influence
 
The good positioning of the industry, as well as the regulatory framework and the decisions of the authorities, will allow the consolidation of new exploration projects; They will facilitate the transition from the exploration stage to the construction and assembly stage; exploitation as well as the expansion of the projects in the productive stage and will determine clear rules for the environmental and social closure of the mines.
