Meet Alexis! She is a 1st year Master's student in Microbiology who is currently doing Cancer Research at Health Sciences North. “I completed my 4 year B.Sc. degree with a specialization in Biomedical Biology. I initially began volunteering in the research lab during my 2nd and 3rd year out of curiosity and interest for this field. During my 4th and final year, I decided to take the research and seminar class with Dr. Litzgus. I did very well in her class and really enjoyed it! I also had a very good research project that in turn incited me to continue it as a current Master's project! I work under the supervision of Dr. Hoyun Lee who is a Tumor Biologist with a focus on Cancer Research. Seeing as the Cancer Center does so much for the community, I wanted to show my appreciation for all they do by hosting a fundraiser called "Cupcakes For Cancer" with all proceeds going directly to the NCF.” Keep up the great work, Alexis!
