Incorporated in December 2006, CEDC is an arms-length Community Development Corporation, led by an independent board with core funding from the City of Thunder Bay.
 
The mandate of the CEDC is to operate in a way that is:

CEDC receives formal proposals on projects that will contribute to economic development. It responds quickly to new opportunities and initiatives to attract direct financial involvement from government and private sectors. CEDC's staff will assist your business with attaining essential information for decision making.
 
Located within CEDC's administrative office, the Thunder Bay and District Entrepreneur Centre provides seminars, workshops and free and confidential business counselling services to new and existing small businesses.
 
 
As of September 1, 2018 Tourism Thunder Bay has transferred under CEDC's umbrella
 
Tourism Thunder Bay is the destination management organization for the city of Thunder Bay.  The organization positions the community as Canada’s premier outdoor city and urban gateway to attract leisure, convention and sport tourism visitors from around the world.
 
Working in collaboration with industry, Destination Northern Ontario, Destination Ontario and Destination Canada, Tourism Thunder Bay coordinates the community’s tourism marketing strategies and partnerships, tourism product development, tourism media relations and international travel trade development.
 
 

Registered Nurse - POOL
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing and in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team, is responsible for providing a leadership role in the organization by supervising, implementing, and evaluating the Pioneer Ridge Home for the Aged’s operations and clinical programs.
 
Early Childhood Educator I

Under the general supervision of the Program Supervisor, assists in teaching, cooking, housekeeping, and laundry duties.

School Crossing Guard

Under the general supervision of the Field Supervisor - Crossing Guards, is responsible for the safety of children crossing the street at designated school crossings.

Primary Care Paramedic (POOL - District)
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent – EMS Operations, is responsible for performing patient assessment, treatment, and monitoring tasks, which include controlled medical acts while providing safe and timely transport in accordance with the applicable Acts.
